Presentation formats
Oral presentations
Outline of the session: There are four presenters at each session, and the session is in total one hour. You have a maximum of 10 minutes for your presentation and 5 minutes for discussion. The session will have a moderator who will present all speakers and keep track of time. In addition, there will be a person assigned to help with passing the microphone for questions from the audience, etc. Please arrive at the room at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of the session.
Workshops
Outline of the session: You and your team will arrange and lead your whole session, and the session is in total one hour. A major part of the workshop should be used for group work, and a maximum of 1/3 (20 minutes) of the workshop should be used for presentation. You are supposed to moderate the session, which means there will be no additional moderator allocated. You will, however, have 1 person assigned to help you with passing the microphone or other minor tasks needed during the workshop. Your presentation will take place in a room with a small stage. If your workshop is in room G4 or J1, the furnishing will be 12-17 round tables and 6 chairs each. If the workshop is in any other room, the furnishing will be cinema seating. Please arrive at the room at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of the session.
Panel/symposia
Outline of the session: You and your team will arrange and lead your whole session, and the session is in total one hour. You are supposed to moderate the session, which means there will be no additional moderator allocated. Your presentation will take place in a room with a stage with chairs and a small table for you presenters, and cinema seating for the participants. Please arrive at the conference room at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of the session.
Art/media/performance
Outline of the session: There are two or three presenters at each session, and the session is in total one hour. For sessions involving two presenters, you have a maximum of 25 minutes for your presentation and 5 minutes for discussion. For sessions involving three presenters, you have a maximum of 15 minutes for your presentation and 5 minutes for discussion. Look carefully at the times noted in the digital program for your specific session.
Your presentation will take place in a room with a stage and cinema seating for the participants. The session will have a moderator who will present all speakers and keep track of time. In addition, there will be a person assigned to help with passing the microphone for questions from the audience, etc. Please arrive at the conference room at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time of the session.
Posters
Posters need to be printed and not digital: size: A0 (84,1 x 118,9 cm / 33,1” x 46,8”), portrait format. Use the same title as in the published conference program. Posters will be hung by subject areas so there will be a specific allocation for your poster.
Poster slots. There will be two different time slots for posters, and your poster will be displayed during one of these:
- The first slot Tue 5 May 12.00 to Wed 6 May 11.15; you may put up your poster during the morning on 5 May, between 8.00-12.00, and it is very important that you remove the poster no later than 11.15 (!) the next day for new posters to be put up.
- The second slot Wed 6 May 12:15 to Thu 7 May 13:30; you should put up your poster May 6 between 11:15-12:15 and remove it on May 7 at 13:30.
Please have a look at the digital program to see which slot your poster is allocated in. You will find the number of your poster in the abstract book that you will receive at the end of the week before the conference starts.
Poster sessions and walks. There are three dedicated poster sessions during the conference. Make sure to note which one(s) are scheduled during your slot (the time your poster is up) and stand by your poster at that time. If your poster is selected for presentation at a guided poster walk, a moderator will contact you.
Poster prizes. Evaluation of all posters will be carried out by a special committee and nominations of conference participants. Prizes for best posters will be awarded in five categories:
- doctoral student (first author)
- scientific quality
- practice-based development quality
- novelty
- layout/design

General information for all presenters
Stage and technology
- Standard on stage is network PC for PowerPoint presentations, version Office 2016
- The screen format is 16:9 (widescreen)
- In case you have a video, the format is mp3, resolution 1920 x 1080 in HD
- You will be provided with wireless headset microphone, and there will be hand microphone(s) in the room for other participants’ comments and questions
- A technician will be on site in the room for your support
